Syrian Refugees
There is a civil war in Syria right now and it is not safe for them to live there. Many people were being killed by the government and whole cities were destroyed. Syrians fled to European countries and other parts of the world. Many enter new countries or get caught trying to do so and are forced to live in refugee camps where they can apply for resettlement with the UN. After up to two years, refugees are invited to live in a country and to get work visas. France took in 30,000 refugees and Germany took in one million. While many people are helping refugees, some people believe that letting in refugees will bring crime.

Global Warming
In 2015, a group of countries, including members of the EU, met in Paris, France. They worked on an agreement that will help to keep average global temperatures from rising more than 2 degrees Celsius, in order to minimize the problems associated with climate change. One hundred and seventy-five countries signed the Paris agreement, including all the countries in Western Europe. The goal of the agreement is to reduce greenhouse gas admissions worldwide and develop technologies that will help countries become more resilient to rising temperatures. If the countries abide by this agreement, the affects of increased temperatures will be kept to a minimum.
